Call for Papers 2027 – Help Shape the SchraubTec Conference Program

How can bolted connections be made safer, more cost-effective, easier to automate, and more sustainable? What types of failures occur in industrial practice? Which solutions have proven effective?

For the SchraubTec Regional Trade Fairs 2027, we are looking for speakers who can present specific challenges, practical experience, and proven solutions from industrial applications.

SchraubTec brings together fastening technology experts and users from the automotive industry, mechanical and plant engineering, metalworking, automation, and electronics.


In 2027, SchraubTec will take place in Stuttgart, the Sauerland region, Landshut, Detmold, Freiburg, Düsseldorf, and Chemnitz.



Each location will feature a specialist conference program addressing both the key challenges in fastening technology and the specific requirements of the respective industrial region.


We are looking for application-oriented technical presentations with a strong practical focus. Rather than showcasing individual products, presentations should focus on clearly defined challenges, solution approaches, and transferable insights.

A strong SchraubTec presentation addresses a specific question from industrial practice:


  • What challenge arose in design, procurement, assembly, production, quality, or maintenance?

    Particularly relevant are safety-critical screw connections, automated series assembly, lightweight construction, mixed construction methods, battery and housing assembly, traceability and robust processes for high production volumes.

  • Mechanical and plant engineering

    Solutions are sought for diverse production, small and medium batch sizes, highly stressed connections, special machine construction, flexible automation, maintenance and the implementation of current safety and documentation requirements.

  • Metalworking industry

    The focus is on materials, surfaces, fastener manufacturing, high-strength connections, corrosion, friction coefficients, fatigue, quality testing and the secure connection of cast, formed, welded and precision components.

  • Automation and electronics

    We are seeking contributions on automated precision assembly, sensor technology, process data, flexible screw systems, feeding technology, electrical and mechatronic assemblies, and the integration of screw technology into digital production systems.

    Contributions are particularly sought on safety-critical bolted connections, process capability, traceability, flexible assembly lines, lightweight construction, mixed connections and highly automated production processes.

  • Sauerland (Olsberg) – 11. March 2027

    Main areas of focus: Metal processing, materials and fasteners


    Contributions on materials, heat treatment, coatings, corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, thread and fastener manufacturing, fatigue strength, testing methods and reusable connections are particularly sought.

  • Landshut – 12 May 2027

    Key areas: Automation, electronics and automotive


    Contributions are particularly sought on the automated assembly of electrical and mechatronic assemblies, feeding technology, sensitive components, data-based fault detection, and battery, housing and precision assembly.

  • Detmold – June 9, 2027

    Main focus areas: Mechanical engineering and metal processing


    Contributions are particularly sought on the topics of economical screw assembly for small batch sizes, frequent variant changes, partial automation, special machine construction, C-parts management, retrofit and maintenance.

  • Freiburg – July 21, 2027

    Key areas: Metal processing and intelligent automation


    Contributions are particularly sought on adaptive screwing strategies, sensor technology, automated quality control, precision connections, coated components and the automation of diverse production.

  • Düsseldorf – September 29, 2027

    Key areas of focus: Mechanical engineering, metal processing and industrial life cycle


    Contributions are particularly sought on highly stressed connections, standardization, supplier quality, economical assembly, maintenance, reassembly, digital documentation and design for disassembly.

  • Chemnitz – November 4, 2027

    Key areas: Metal processing, mechanical engineering and automotive


    Contributions are particularly sought on high-strength and dynamically loaded connections, preload and friction, cast and formed components, surfaces, damage analysis and quality assurance in the supplier industry.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ABSTRACT

What should your submission include?

In addition to the overarching topics of screw technology, we place particular emphasis on specific areas at each location. A presentation can be submitted for multiple locations.

  • Please submit the following information via our online form:

    • a meaningful presentation title
    • a brief description of the specific initial situation
    • the affected user industry and application
    • the technical or economic problem to be solved
    • the method used or the chosen solution path
    • the most important results and insights
    • three concrete learnings for the attendees
    • the subject areas addressed and the technical level
    • Use our guide for speakers to create your abstract.
  • We compile the program according to these criteria. In selecting the lectures, we pay particular attention to:

    • Relevance for industrial users
    • Timeliness and technical depth
    • Concrete and comprehensible problem statement
    • Practical relevance and transferability of results
    • Quality and comprehensibility of the abstract
    • Alignment with the respective location profile
    • Balance of the overall technical program
    • Product neutrality of the presentation

Products and solutions may be part of a practical example. However, the focus must be on the challenge, the approach, the results, and the benefits for the users.

Primary product presentations, company presentations and purely marketing lectures cannot be taken into account when creating the program.

FRAMEWORK CONDITIONS

  • The most important information at a glance

    • Presentations will last 30 minutes, including a Q&A session.
    • Presentations will be given in German.
    • Selection is contingent upon the submitting company participating as an exhibitor at the desired location.
    • Each exhibitor may give one presentation free of charge, subject to organizational guidelines.
    • Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the conference program.
    • Presentation slots will be allocated based on topic, relevance, location, availability, and the time of submission.
    • Speakers agree to the terms and conditions for speakers and moderators of the Vogel Communications Group.
